As requested, I added my "diffs" to the bugzilla database
(http://bugzilla.remotesensing.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461)
so you and other victims of this projections may inspect
my idea for supporting it.

By the way, I'm working from a fax copy myself.
The funny thing is that someone helpfully summarized it in
the form of a Word document and made two typos doing so. I
only found them after I questioned our client on the unlikely
shape of the earth they provided.  That's when I saw the
fax with presumably correct values.

I've got a working solution for my purposes, so please take
all the time you need.
