Mateusz,

I am not too familiar with this or the Thuban bindings for PROJ.4.
But there are also very indirect bindings for PROJ.4 through OGR
and the OGRSpatialReference.  This has the additional benefit
of including handling of coordinate systems in a variety of formats,
notably OGC WKT.
