I propose to use the latest FWTools

http://test.gdal.org/fwtools/FWTools130.exe

In this package gdal14.dll and proj.dll have been renamed to
gdal_fw.dll and proj_fw.dll to avoid the collision with the existing
dll-s on a development machine. So these dll-s should be renamed back.

Could you post a more detailed error message you have.
