[Proj] #229 - trunk init still broken

Thanks, I've checked with r2482 as far as I can, I can't see any negative 
side-effects. Could others please check?

There are 28 in trunk and 46 in unspecified, so this isn't trivial. All 
are owned by Frank (reasonably enough). How might we move forward on this?
