[Proj] PSG Dataset ver 9.0 released on 15th December 2016

+1 on creating a Grand Unified Geodetic Database. That would be a hell of a lot better than what we have now and with the new and improved geodetic capabilities in Proj.4 the timing couldn't be better!

After FOSS4G in Bonn there were some discussion about a similar effort on the OSGeo Disscusion list. It wasn't very focused and I am not sure anything came out of it but at least it underlines that there is an interest in this sort of thing.

It is not very likely for me to attend the code sprint either. I also think that this mailing list is a good place for the initial discussions. If it gets some traction and actual work is done at the code sprint I will do my best to participate remotely.
