[Chameleon] Turning Off the MapTips widget

Hi all,

I've upgraded my mapserver5.6.5 /chameleon2.6 platform to use PHP5 and am working my way through some challenges!

This one is relatively minor, but annoying:
How does one turn off the MapTips widget without totally closing the session? The PopUp comes up, with only OK and Cancel, and OK doesn't work with "None" as a layer selection.

This problem has been around for awhile (http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/chameleon/2004-November/001552.html), but I couldn't find a subsequent fix.

I am using chameleon-2.6.0rc1.
