[FWTools] 50x jp2 to mosaic jp2 remaining in the comrpessed domain

Is there any way to remain in the compressed domain while mosaicing jp2's? 
To go out to tiff my mosaic exceeds the 4gb max for a gtiff (100gb) .  I 
have 50 ~100mb jp2 i would love to stitch together without purchasing er 
mapper or geoxpress.
