[FWTools] gdal2tiles.py? is there a walk through...

I managed to get this to work on my wifes Vista machine
not really a problem any body know what I need to unstall or flush or 
what entry in my registry needs edited.. swiping her machine to do this 
.. is a little heavy handed ;-)
