[FWTools] bitmap symbol for point shapes

Hi list,

OpenEV Tutorial 2 says the following about symbols for point shapes:
...The symbol may be one of the vector symbols (ogr-sym-*) or a raster 
symbol (in this case, id should be a path to the raster file to use)...

The following entry in the Shape attributes dialog:

SYMBOL(id:"filename.bmp")

or as specified at the ogr feature style specification

SYMBOL(id:"bmp-filename.bmp")

does not work at all.

Any ideas anybody about how to use raster symbols in OpenEV?
