[FWTools] FWtools on ubuntu hardy

Hello Frank,

 I am a newbie  using FWtools on Linux. I recently installed it

in  my linux Ubuntu Hardy PC and all seemed to be alright. So, I went to "bin_safe" and started Open EV and It started great.
 
When I tried to open any of my tif's or shp's or any other of my image data..... it just closed. I got no error message. It  just closed.:-0

Did I missed something by the installation, which is giving me these problems?
