Another hint:
what's the <!DOCTYPE of definition of your HTML page?
If you don't have a DOCTYPE definition on top of your page, or you
have an XHTML page, IE can have some problem.
I suggest a test with:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
