subject line or in the body of the message.

"Help"

Dear Friends,

We have MapInfo Professional Version 4.5 installed on our PC. I have been
facing the following problems in using the software efficiently (for
academic and teaching purposes) :

1. When the map is "zoomed in" for placing the lettering (names) and
symbols, it is found that the symbols do not change their size, i.e. remain
the same size at different zoom-in zoom-out levels; but the letters change
size - larger with zoom-in and smaller with zoom-out. This anomaly causes
serious problems of overlap and repeated needs to relocate and adjust the
relative places of names with reference ti the point symbols.

2. Whenever some text is copied from one layer and is pasted in another
layer ( after making that layer editable), that layer suddenly gets
zoomed-in several times automatically and the map has to be brought back to
original scale again and again.

3. After several steps of zoom-in and zoom-out for the purpose of editing
finer details and reshaping - digitizing, the original sizes of letters
which were input, change erratically, whereby the uniformity is lost. When
such errors are detected, the whole map has to be reprinted after editing
leading to wastage.

May I request the members of Maplab-users to kindly inform me the solutions
to the above said problems, if possible, for which I shall remain grateful.

With regards to all members,
