[maplab-users] rosa problems with different jvms[Scanned at OA]

As of the Maplab 2.2 release, Maplab is not being developed further.
Well documented, major bugs presented on the list may make it into a
point release at some time, but there are no current plans for one,
essentially due to a lack of funding. In the future we may develop a
replacement based on Chameleon (http://maptools.org/chameleon)
technology. Among other things, Chameleon provides Rosa-like
functionality implemented in javascript.

I haven't seen particular problems with the Sun VM on machines I have
used, but I seldom use Maplab on Windows.

Of course, the source code for Maplab and Rosa are available from the
maptools site so that users can make their own fixes and
modifications.

I remember reading something about this a while ago when I first got the problem (no map displaying) but couldn't find it again now when I looked. The weird thing is, that it seems to work with either jvm in mapbrowser and the mapedit preview, but not gmapfactory. I was going to submit this as a bug as it makes it quite difficult to deploy the map if you don't know which version of the jvm is being used, but thought I'd check with the list first. Does anyone have a workaround for this?
