Hello Westerners:

I guess that goes N to S. I have been working with MapServer for almost
two years now, and have deployed to both Windows and SuSE Linux with
Tyler's help.

I mostly do MapServer at night and do that other stuff during the day.
I just gave a MapServer presentation on March 3rd which you can find on
my website www.markrodrigo.com I took a few minutes during the end to
slam the other web IMS products, and I think everybody pretty much knew
I was slamming ESRI.

My chief reasons for using MapServer are:
1. Stability
2. Speed
3. Flexibility
4. Longetivity
5. Portability
6. Community
7. Expandibility

Those are pretty generic reasons which have a lot of technical reasons
behind them.

Nowadays, I am into integration with PostGIS, PHP Mapscript, Web
Services and using other server side OpenSource technologies. I just
finished the base map server for all of Mexico which I want to expand
into a Web Services Demographic Extraction tool. I also volunteer and
am working on a white shark almost real time tracking app.

Peace

M
