[ms4w-users] MS4W - Newbie install questions

Hi Christian,

Yup, it can run on your XP Home machine.  If you run into problems I 
would suggest shutting down the XP firewall and seeing if that solves 
things.

Regarding postgis/postgres, you should be good to go.  The versions of 
MapServer included in MS4W include PostGIS support.  If you want to use 
PHP to access postgres you'll have to load the extension (as in 
http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/ms4w-users/2005-January/000157.html).
