[FWTools] Py version conflict error

Greeting list,

I'm a new user of FWTools.  I'm using the FWTools shell on a
Windows XP machine.

Using the gdal_merge function, I'm getting the error:
ImportError: Module use of python23.dll conflicts with this
version of Python.

Any suggestions?
