[FWTools] OpenEV needing sde91.dll - not found?

Hello list,
 
I installed the FWtools 1.2.2 Windows binaries and try to open a HDF5 file in OpenEV_FW, unsuccessfully.
 
During startup,. OpenEV claims that some python application has failed to start because sde91.dll was not found. The command window says ERROR 1: Can't load requested DLL: <path>\gdal_SDE.dll 126: The specified module could not be found.
 
Re-installing has not fixed the problem. However, after giving that message twice, OpenEV_FW starts and appears OK.
 
Trying to load a HDF5 file from the viewer, I get the following response in the command window:

The file seems OK in the Intel Array Viewer. It's 460 KB, I can post it if desirable.
 
Are the problems with opening this file related to the missing dll?
